As it is International Women's Day today, here is a small post to recognise the role women are playing on the front line of the modern Luftwaffe. Major Ulrike Fitzer was the first female fighter pilot in the German Air Force. She is the first German female Tornado pilot, having completed training in 2007 at Holloman Air Force Base. Major Nicola Baumann became second female fighter pilot in the history of the German Air Force in 2007 flying both Tornado and Eurofighter Typhoon in Luftwaffe. Women with the forces is a great step!! It is necessary to offer women the same opportunities as men. It flying is their dream why should they not be allowed to fly for the Luftwaffe too? Keep on this policy - it is important for women and our Luftwaffe. Comments are closed.
